DFD chosen as architect of record for Phoenix W Hotel project
DFD CornoyerHedrick has been selected as architect of record for the new W Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona.
/Architecture PR News/ - PHOENIX, AZ, September 29, 2005 - Explosive urban growth in Phoenix continues with the recent announcement of a new condo/hotel to be operated by W Hotels Worldwide. DFD CornoyerHedrick was named architect of record for the project being developed by Suns Legacy Hotel Investors, LP. The 39-story, 180-room hotel, located adjacent to America West Arena at Jefferson and Third Streets, will feature public space, two 3,000 square-foot restaurants, a 4,000 square-foot bar, 24-hour business center, retail, spa/fitness center and 170 penthouse condominium suites. Kohn Peterson Fox (KPF) of New York is the design architect, Tynan Group Inc. is the project manager, and Hunt Construction Company is the pre-construction consultant on the upscale boutique hotel project.
"This hotel will bring a new level of elegance and distinction to downtown Phoenix" stated Mike Davis, CEO and director of design for DFD. "It will accelerate the process of downtown's transformation into a 24/7 live-work-play destination. DFD is proud to be part of a project of this caliber for Phoenix."
