NYSERDA Finds an 'Ally' in 3tarchitects

"Tiffany Heath and Marissa Emmer to participate in lighting initiative
promoting energy efficient solutions for small commercial businesses"

/Architecture PR News/ - ALBANY, NY, October 23, 2007 - 3tarchitects (www.3tarchitects.com), a growing collaborative design group based in downtown Albany, has recently added to its already inspiring commitment to environmental preservation. Two of 3t's employees, Tiffany Heath and Marissa Emmer, have signed on to participate in the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's (NYSERDA) Ally Designer Program. This program makes Tiffany and Marissa "allies" of the Small Commercial Lighting Program (SCLP), which is part of New York State's "Energy $mart" initiative. This Ally Designer Program is open to designers who voluntarily agree to promote energy-efficient lighting solutions for businesses occupying 1,000 - 25,000 square feet. The benefits of this relationship are experienced on both sides: energy is preserved in order to protect the environment, as well as to lower utility costs for businesses.

3t founder Scott Townsend, an 'ally' designer himself, is delighted that Tiffany and Marissa have taken an interest in the initiative. He explains, "The Small Commercial Lighting Program is one important way to help businesses to recognize that they have the ability to lower their energy costs, receive financial incentives from NYSERDA while preserving the environment."

The Ally Designer Program is voluntary, yet rewards its members through cash incentives for developing qualifying lighting designs. Participants must sign an agreement and attend a training program to qualify for membership. Participants are also invited to and encouraged to attend all SCLP seminars which will feature new developments in efficient lighting, as well as the best lighting plans for specific areas of a business' office space.

Townsend added that 3t has already had several existing clients participate in the program. 3t's own offices qualified for the program.
