Tools, Tips, and Tactics - How to Find a Job in a Tough Economy

How do you stand out in a job-seeking crowd? Principal Kenneth Roberts' presentation Tools, Tips, and Tactics - How to Find a Job in a Tough Economy is jam-packed full of practical information regarding active commercial and residential design job sectors, effective networking tactics, important resume / portfolio / interview dos and don'ts, and insight into what employers are looking for in new hires that will lift them out of their current economic doldrums.

If you are a...

1) seasoned professional who has been (or is on the verge of being) let go,
2) soon-to-be or recent graduate looking for your first break, or
3) small business owner searching for more stability by working for someone else,

then you have one more chance to learn the best methods for leveraging your strengths and presenting your best self, rising above the rest to land that position.

Kenneth has given this presentation at several speaking engagements with ASID and their many chapters. Pam Durkin, President of the Florida South ASID Chapter attests to the effectiveness of the presentation.

"We actually hired Ken to speak at two career days. Our chapter is so large that we held one on the east coast and another on the west coast of Florida. His presentation was excellent. He gave specific examples to the students on how to properly prepare a cover letter and resume. He talked about how to brand oneself and make the best impression possible with a potential employer. He talked about how to network and use the internet to access job opportunities, both advertised and unadvertised. I would definitely recommend having him speak to your students! Some students even attended both events so as to see him again!"

This hip concept to understanding the ins and outs of the real interior design industry is the brainchild of Interior Designer Laura McDonald, IIDA and ASID member. Prior to Plinth & Chintz, McDonald worked at Furstenwerth + Bagley Design in Dallas, Texas. For more information, visit www.plinthandchintz.com.
